Plus Size Bloomingdales: Sale!

my love affair with bloomingdale’s continues. and, i just discovered that you can save 25-50% on a wide variety of merch at bloomingdales through july 24. i went cruising for items to start getting ready for plus size fashion fall 2012 (stay tuned for that post) because i just know they’ve got some crazy awesome things in store. want to see what great deals i found while cruising keep reading!

i love this dress. the color, the style, the knot. it’s understated, and it will be perfect come fall if you were to throw on some tights and a vest on top. it’ll take you through the end of summer, too. it’s definitely a piece that’s going to last. it’s by ralph lauren, and it’s the bateau neckline side knot dress. originally, $144, you can get it now for $75.60. guaranteed to look good in this one if you’ve got the right undergarments and an hourglass shape!

now this one can work on a lot of different plus size body shapes. i’d put a neutral, contrasting belt on just under the bustline to really give it some good shape. this is that hi-low hem trend we’ve seen over and over again, but this dress is very versatile. you can easily dress this one up or just wear it around the house on the weekends. originally, $195, the nation LTD diamond bar high/low hem dress is the perfect addition to a summer transition wardrobe. we’ve still got the dead of august to go through – and this could totally be your go-to number for the entire month.

now, i’m not entirely sure about the name of the tahari woman patty dress (who’s patty?), but i do know that this is one little black dress that you will wear over and over again. tahari is also almost ALWAYS a good investment piece, too. the line is known for its suiting pieces, and this dress is no exception. can you image this with a blazer and hair slicked back into an updo? formerly $128, you’re not going to get a better deal than $76.80.

if you want to get really fancy with your latest purchase from bloomingdale’s, may i recommend an aidan mattox? the aidan mattox long sleeve sequin dress is the stuff dreams are made of! i know because i tried it on one time. i took home a different formal dress by aidan mattox, but the construction of this dress is just as beautiful in person. seriously … this is a great purchase for anyone who loves sequins. and the excuse, “but i’ve got no where to wear it,” is like, totally invalid. make up a place! have a party at your house and invite friends to dress formally for the occasion. why not? originally $365, this one is now $273.75.

and speaking of fancy things i’m completely obsessed with … how about this david meister three quarter sleeve METALLIC LACE dress?! metallic lace? oh yes. and look at it up close:

completely gorgeous. this one was originally $528 (hold onto your chairs!), but it’s now $369.60. now there’s a dress that’s worth making up a party for.

have you ever bought a dress that was beautiful with no where in particular to wear it? i LOVE doing that.
