who’s ready for the next NYC plus size clothing swap? it’s coming january 26, 2013 (can you believe it’s 2013?)! this one will be different from all the swaps i’ve held before. this time, i’ve partnered with the lovely jennifer of closetdash shop. it’s the first and only place that you can shop OR swap designer fashions, and it’s at 30 E. 20th St., Suite 402 in NYC!
Thank you to everyone who came out to the NYC Plus Size Clothing Swap at Katra Lounge on August 22, 2012. I hope that everyone had a blast! It was a lot of hard work, and I want to thank (from the bottom of my heart!) all of the women who worked hard behind the scenes and on the scene to put this thing together! Also, I wanted to talk a little bit about the things I learned at this swap and the things we’ll do differently next time to be sure the event goes as smoothly as possible.

One of my favorite things about living in NYC is the concept of Summer Fridays. Perhaps I’m a little naive when it comes to other locales, but we never had Summer Fridays in other places I’ve lived, and not every place I’ve worked in the city has had Summer Fridays either. I’m excited for this particular Summer Friday because I’m headed to a party at Le Bain at The Standard. That’s the rooftop bar with a pool that has seem some very naughty action in it, I’m sure, over the years. I will not be wearing my fatkini into the pool tomorrow due to a strong desire to stay away from other people’s bodily fluids, but I have been thinking hard about what one wears to such a divine honorable pleasure as this one. I’ve rounded up some pieces and looks to inspire myself for tomorrow. I mean … I don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard, but I have to look and feel cool. That means planning is a must.
