so you all got the memo that the 90′s is making a comeback right? my favorite memory of the 90′s, fashion-wise, were my mary jane doc martens. remembering fondly upon those days of wearing anything but heels, i decided to take advantage of the proximity of the doc marten store to my NYC apartment. i marched down to the store with a friend the other day and scored 2 new pairs of docs – both of which feature some technology that make them light on the feet.
here’s what i looked like in the late 90′s, enormous hair, statement ring, hoody, and totally wearing a pair of mary jane docs:my friend looks like she’s wearing boots, too. this is a look that i’ve wondered about coming back into style full circle. and while i probably won’t be rocking my hair that large again any time soon, you never know.
here’s my take on the 90′s returning in the 10′s. i’m wearing a DKNY for lane bryant army green dress with a hood, a tshirt from target, leggings from torrid, and some shiny new alligator boots from doc marten. my necklace and ring are from a tattoo shop in las vegas, and my bag is from aldo, and so is the tiny gold pin on my pocket.
here’s a closer look at the jewelry:
are you into the return of the 90′s? i was totally into plaid, too, but i don’t think that ever made it’s way out of my wardrobe except for a very brief period in the early aughts …
