i got a request from a lovely young lady desperately looking for bathing suits that wouldn’t make her feel like her grandma. not that grandma can’t be stylish, too, or anything

of course, some of my fave bathing suits available out there now are in my shop in the section dedicated to swimsuits, but i thought i’d whip out some other faves that i’ve seen out there for you. let’s take a gander, shall we?

YES – i am totally all over the retro look for swimsuits. i have a swimsuit from lane bryant in this same color from last year … it is SO attractive. and HOW stinkin cute is this suit?!

i’m loving this halter swim top from avenue. if you’ve got a smaller bust, like i do, this sweetheart neckline with pink details is perfect for you because it accentuates and brings the eye up. double win! oh, and it’s cute. would go with any kind of black bottoms if you’re a mix and matcher like i am.

whatup mega cute giraffe / animal print bandeau top swimsuit?! this one’s by beach belle.

how CROOT is this top? *salute* this is from avenue, it’s nautical inspired, and it’s got tummy control if you’re looking for that kind of thing. grandma would NOT rock that little ring at the bust.

i’m also liking this pink coverup. first of all, it’s in the coral family – hot color for the season! and it’s got cute little bead details on the shoulders. great coverup and will look cute if you hit the bar before going home to change.

this is monif’s capri. she’s got great-fitting one pieces, as well. dorothyperkins.com may also be a good choice for you, depending on what body type you have as a plus-size woman. i certainly cannot wear the bottoms on dorothyperkins.com, but some taller plus-size women will have the shape that is required.
