i got into the spirit of fourth of july yesterday and put on this jones new york sheath dress in red. i love, love this dress. it’s appropriate for work, for a lunch date, for brunch or for a night out. so versatile and such a great pop of color. today is day 2 of the 12 days of christmas, and i couldn’t get very far into this without focusing on shoes. shocker, i know. seeing as i own countless pairs of them. i literally have 2 closets FULL of shoes at my house. i think this probably makes me a horrible person on some level, but then again, shoes almost always still fit. up first, some affordable options from kmart.
the qupid women’s pamper sherpa short boot in black is not the most attractive looking shoe on kmart’s website, but i think that has something to do with how it’s been photographed. imagine this warm-looking boot on your foot with a pair of black jeggings tucked in and a chic tunic on top with a fantastic obi belt wrapped around your waist, some big chunky rings on your finger and a classic khaki trench on top to protect you from the snow. HELLO. and you can change up the laces to change up the look. these are $37.49. (and kmart has some great shipping offers as well as discount codes going on right now. just click through the photo to get to their site and take advantage.) unnnnh yes. this is like the perfect foot punctuation for a party look. hell, i’d wear these around the house if i could get away with it. from the platform to the velvet, to the flower, to the mary jane look. this qupid women’s olwyn velvet flower mary jane in black from kmart is workin’ it for all it’s name is worth! it’s on sale for $29.99. did you hear that asos is having a 40% off sale on shoes right now? that’s music to this girl’s ears because they have some of the HOTTEST options that i would put into the “affordable” price range. and you know they have free shipping to you and free returns, right? love that. these bad boys have pink, glitter, platforms, bows, and velvet. i can’t decide if these are too much are just right. so maybe i’ll just take advantage of that free shipping deal and order them and see … now here’s a shoe that i’m totally, totally sure of. it’s green velvet. it’s an ankle boot. it just looks rich. end of. and i’m pretty into the high heeled loafer look that i’ve seen recently. these are from irregular choice, which is a brand that we’ve talked about before because i’m obsessed with how weird they are. anyway, there are on sale for $89.99, usually $179.99. come on ladies! almost $100 off! and while we’re on the subject of weird shoes and irregular choice … why not try out these tassled boots that also happen to be rocking some faux fur? i mean, again with the asos offers free shipping to and from their facility. can’t hurt to see how you feel in a pair of these, right? ok, maybe you’re not ready → read more
so i know the 12 days of christmas TECHNICALLY don’t even start until christmas day, but, by that time, it’ll be too late to get these gifts for the lady in your life who loves fashion. so, we’re getting a start now, and we’ll lead up all the way to christmas eve (for those who can get away with giving their gift a little late). let’s talk about jackets first. these are going to be crucial to your work wardrobe in the new year, right? because i KNOW that you’re going to climb that ladder in the coming new year, you’re gonna need some smokin’ hot blazers. this jacket from city chic is just that, chic. it’s a ponte knit, which means it’s got a little bit of stretch, and that color is gorgeous.
loving this tipped edge blazer by simplybe. it will instantly make an outfit professional and pulled together. i think this would be fantastic with black tights and a skirt, as well as your more traditional pantsuit. this leatherette jacket from city chic is super sexy. it’s great for fridays at the office or for just kicking your outfit up a notch (or 5). yowza. oh, and it’s lined with leopard print. and, speaking of leopard print, this velvet leopard print jacket, also from city chic, is versatile. whether you’re in a t-shirt and jeans or leather paneled skirt (hello!), this brings sexy detail to your look. just add a necklace.
this chanel-inspired tweed jacket is spot on, so timeless. it’s for those with advanced style, or for those who haven’t quite figured out their style because it’s so easy to throw it on over basics and go. it’s got all the detailing you need. a must-have. this is from newport news, and it’s available only in misses sizes (which go up to 18, but not 18W), so be careful and look at their sizing chart when you order. joan rivers touch of sparkle sequin blazer. now i have some qualms about calling this a “touch” of sparkle, but … yeeesssssssaaahhhhhs. a sequin blazer. this is just a closet staple. whether it’s for work or for new years eve, i love it. you need to have it. and it happens to be on sale right now. i’m just sayin. now they call this the linea by louis dell’olio chain print notch collar blazer. and that’s a lot. i mean, this jacket is a lot, but i feel like, styled the right way, you could be WAH-URKIN this blazer. it also comes in pink and white. i’m seriously considering the white, but the blue feels so nautical that i can’t handle it. thoughts? oh – and free S&H from QVC, too: holler atcher girl scout! oh, and merry almost christmas y’all. stay tuned for tomorrow’s edition of the 12 days of christmas for SKIRTS. xoxo nettaP email this post
