BlogHer12: Fashionable Ladies & Me in a Video. Duh.

2012-08-03 20.58.36

blogher12 was, in a word, amazing. in several words, it was absolutely one of the most amazing experiences i’ve had in a long, long time. i hope to go back to chicago for blogher13, and i hope that if you’re a lady blogger of any sort that you’re able to join me.

there were a ton of “mommy bloggers” and lady bloggers who are not mommies, and even some daddy bloggers at blogher12. i didn’t expect myself to connect and learn so much, and i also didn’t expect such a welcoming environment. to say the least, i had a blast, and i really felt like hey … i can do this! i can write and blog for a living. they think i’m funny out there on the internets. they read me. they may not always comment on my blog posts, but i know they’re out there! i get emails!

Introducing The Beauty Shop

makeupbeauty

just in time for the holidays, (and yes guys, i know you’re out there looking for presents for the ladies in your life), i’m introducing a new shop to xoxonettaP that is all about beauty! it’s full of things that i use and love, items that i’ve heard are the bomb and would love to review, and things all the ladies in your life will love to get their hands on.

Sephora.com, Inc.

so let’s talk a little bit about one of my favorite stores while you’re here … sephora. i’m partial to the one in times square. the really big one across the street from the walgreens, you know the one? the people that work there are phenomenal, and the products they offer i’m almost never disappointed. so, let’s talk about some of my favorite things from sephora.

this is something they call the “makeup studio blockbuster,” and they bill it as having a value of over $440. it’s priced at $49.50. i have one of these, and let’s just say, i’m never wanting for a new look, makeup-wise.

now, i don’t talk about my mom around these parts too much because she’s not really a fashion or beauty fru-fru kind of girl. i think i must’ve taken all of that from her when i was born or something. anyway, she has one of these things. it’s the clarisonic skin cleansing system. and she’s in love with it. she got so excited to see that sephora carried it’s corresponding products that i almost thought someone had switched my mom out with someone else …

magnetic nails are supposed to be the next hot jimmy jawn. so, if you’re sick of sally hansen press-ons and crackle nails, then magnetic polish is the new game in town. what does it look like? here’s a peek and a little explanation from geekologie.com:

and, just in case you’re a lady shopping for a gent (or a gent shopping for a gent), if he’s into fragrances, i’m loving this fragrance sampler that let’s him test out a whole host of different sniffs for the new year.

so, what’s it gonna be? see anything that tickles your fancy? and who are you having trouble shopping for out there? let me help you. i loooooove shopping for presents! i also want to hear about what your favorite things are from sephora.

-gui1967-712031_0x420

here are things i’ve spotted in the elena miro woman ss 2012 video:

a lot of florals in black and white print silky suit separates, some in metallic muted army green colors a set of dresses and pencil skirts and blouses in red, pinks and purples a cocktail dress or two (strapless and one shoulder) skinny red belts accentuating waists large polka dot prints a tuxedo blouse with an interesting polka dot print down the front stripes (pencil skirt suit) a set of pieces in gold and one under-stated sequin number (as understated as sequins can be!)

what do you see? i see lots of things i would wear.
