Couture: Dominique Auxilly Fitting and Interview

novpmm

ladies! you may have spotted this insane dress on the cover of this month’s plus model magazine:

when i saw it, i knew that i needed to find the designer behind it, and that i needed that dress!!

enter, the lovely dominique auxilly (that’s pronounced “awg zilly”), and her crazy cool PR maven nikki. i set out to dominique’s studio this weekend with my good friend kendra from honor you to interview dominique about her couture line and her more affordable line (that’s still totally couture!), dauxilly. while i was there, i got fitted for this beautiful dress.

the video interview will come out soon on coco perez tv. i’ll be sure to share it with you when it’s done.

what i wanted to tell you about now is how AMAZING this dress and her line truly is. first of all, dominique’s pieces are not outrageously priced, and celebs like nikki minaj and kelly rowland have rocked her pieces. they’re for the daring young lady who needs and wants something unique, but who also has special needs in the shape department.

dominique makes everything custom, so if you give her your measurements, you can be more than sure that your dress will fit. you can ask her to insert a panel if you want to cover up more than the original design would cover. you can also ask her to add a pencil skirt to a piece if you feel it’s too short for you. if you want to see a modification happen to make a piece work for you – ask her! she can line a piece if you don’t want to go sheer. the options are truly endless. her line is an “extended” line; that means things are made as small or as large as needed.

these are some of the pieces that we talked about and i saw in person while i was at her studio:

the dawn dress is not for the faint of heart. i would definitely need this dress lined because not only would my mother have a heart attack … in her eyes, i’m still living down the photos of me in plus model magazine from this month where i’m not wearing any pants. that being said, dominique can do that for you! if you have special needs that need to be accommodated in the bust area – she’s got you!

this is the good swan, and it’s a preview of what dominique can do in the wedding gown area. in addition to the dauxilly line that i’m posting pictures from, dominique has a whole set of even MORE intricate dresses that can be worn for big occasions like weddings. ask her about it! when you email or call the number on her website, it’s a direct line straight to her, so you read more

Netta Covets: Sparkle Sleeves!

playsuitsequinsleeves

who doesn’t love a romper? and one with sequin sleeves? this feels so fall and winter to me with tights and little ballet flats or over the knee boots. even a pair of velvet high heels and a clutch. yes! icon
